Actually at a Live Sporting Event

29 Nov

So, I am actually live posting from the Stanford/Notre Dame game hoping that the Notre Dame defense can stop Toby Gerhart for at least one series.

Weekend Wrap-Up

24 Nov

Alright I know it’s a day late, but with a new Podcast on Saturday (check it out: Knuckle Sandwich with Ryan Gaul), I had to wait a day to get this out, so just chill the fuck out.   I know it’s late, so let’s just dive in.

1. Pretty ho-hum weekend, with the exception being all the Pac-10 action, as Oregon-Arizona and Cal-Stanford proved to be really exciting games.  USC even managed not to lose, because they didn’t play.

2. It hurts me to talk about my Irish, but I think that Charlie Weis has to be let go after a double overtime loss to UConn.  Charlie has had so many positive effects on the program, but I just feel that in the end, it has to come down to wins and losses. Charlie himself said that we can’t except being a 6-5 team, because that is what we are.  He said that 5 years ago, and here we are, right where we started.  That being said, he is a good man, and he really loved the University and the idea of making his players into men.  He did all the intangibles, but not enough to keep his job, in my opinion.

Wow that was serious back to the jokes.

1.  If I told you these two games (Redskins vs. Cowboys and Browns vs. Lions),  and then told you the final score for one game would be 7-6, and the final score for the other game would be 38-37, and then asked you to guess which score went with which game, but just before you told me, I told you to swap your answers, then you would have the right answer to the question.

2.  In another sign that the Mayan’s have correctly picked the end of the world, the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Oakland Raiders beat the first place Cincinnati Begals, on the same day.  Where is John Cusack to save us?

1.  Lakers + Healthy Pau Gasol = pretty damn good

2. The New Jersey Nets are still winless, as they lost to the New York Knicks over the weekend.  But in a grand gesture of sportsmanship, Nate Robinson felt so bad for beating them, that he tried to give them some points.  See below:

What an amazing human being.

1. The Las Vegas Locomotives defeated the New York Sentinels 41-7 in the fiinal UFL game of the regular season, so get some sleep, and get ready for the big one baby: UFL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!!!!

Big Games This Weekend

20 Nov

In the middle of a National Championship run, the giants of the SEC, Florida and Alabama, have huge games this weekend.  Alabama has a huge match against, and University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, and Florida has huge test against powerhouse, Florida International.

Kudos to these schools for scheduling such tough match-ups in the middle of their conference season.  Proof again, that the SEC is not best conference in college football this season.

Oh, and a real big game is tonight, as the final regular season of the UFL season is tonight as the Las Vegas Locomotives take on the New York Sentinels.  Let’s get ready for next week’s championship game!!!!!

The Hands Have It

20 Nov

France has advanced to World Cup by battling Ireland to a 1-1 tie.  Ireland was leading most of the game, when Thierry Henry made an amazing play.  Henry touched a ball that was coming towards him, moved the ball into a place where he could make a play on it, then passed the ball to William Gallas for the game tieing goal.  It was a pretty amazing play…wait…YOU CAN”T USE YOUR HANDS IN SOCCER!

This goal was allowed?!!?!?!?!!?!

See for yourself:

Long Overdue

19 Nov

The Raiders have finally decided to bench Jamarcus Russell in favor of Jeff Garcia, I mean, Bruce Gradkowski.  I think I speak for all sports fans when I say, WHAT THE FUCK TOOK YOU SO LONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
