Gaelic Football

29 Apr

So I am in Ireland for my honeymoon, and while here, I have been turned on to something called Gaelic Football. It is part basketball, part Soccer, Part Rugby, and all awesome. They let a ton of stuff go, because they want the game to move fast. It may be my new favorite sport.

Quick Rant

19 Apr

Okay, so I watched a lot of the NBA playoffs over the weekend, and here is the big thing that I took away from it: I am tired of ESPN saying that Lebron James was denied a chance to play in the Finals last year. To say that someone is denied something, by definition, is to withhold something from. Now, for the record, nothing was withheld from Lebron last year. He had every chance to get to the Finals. All he had to do was beat the Magic. The Cavs didn’t. By saying that he was denied ESPN, you are saying that some outside force kept Lebron out of the Finals, as if he didn’t have any say in the matter. He tried and didn’t make it. So he wasn’t really denied, he was beaten. Just because you were denied having him in the Finals ESPN, doesn’t mean that he actually was. But to ask ESPN, to stop elevating the King would be to ask ESPN to stop talking about Brett Favre.

That being said, Lebron should get to the Finals no problem this year.

Podcast with Josh Covitt and Anthony Alabi

10 Apr

The NFL draft is a few weeks away, so I am happy to say that we have our first professional athlete on the podcast, former NFL player, Anthony Alabi. Here is Anthony’s wikipedia page, so you can get his bio. Anthony is friend of Josh Covitt, a returning guest, and member of the UCB Maude Team, Kirkland’s Signature, so it’s also the first threesome on the podcast. And yeah, I mean threesome.

The Final Four is here, and so is a new podcast, with special guest, Abraham Smith. Abe is an actor’s actor (he has an MFA from Tisch) and he is an amazing stand-up.
